bike lifestyle

We’ve been working on filling out the “bike lifestyle” section of our website and shop. As a bike commuter and rider, I find it enjoyable and motivating to do so with style + function combined. In that spirit, we’ve created some fun offerings here at Queen Bee, as well as hand-picked additional items from other designers to inspire you to ride your bike! Now, in addition to our sweet panniers, you can accessorize your steed with these lovelies.

Handlebar Streamers - made with our pvc-free faux-leather, weatherproof fabric scraps!

Portland Design Works Takeout Basket with Queen Bee removable bag - makes jumping off your bike and grabbing a 6-pack (or burritos or a pack of diapers) at the store super easy! Shown in Sprout above and Flock below:

Panniers in action: Sprout & hot pink Pluma

Windrider clips - keep your pants out of your chain with style! Reflective mercury-inspired wings will get you there.

the best napkins

We recently brought in “every day napkins” by the lovely Shay Carrillo, of non-perishable goods. There are many things to love about these - they are linen, wash up well (won’t come out of the dryer in a wrinkled mess of a ball), combine classic & neutral fabric colors with fun and bright rolled hem edges, and are made by our buddy business, Spooltown, right in the same building. These babies are LOCAL with love. They come in a pack of 6 for $45. Available in our shop or over the phone!

Mothers Day Gift Guide - Red

We have a really great variety of stuff in the shop these days - jewelry, hand-printed scarves, bags + wallets (natch), undies, bike accessories, and home textiles. We’re going to be rolling out a gift guide to highlight our ideas for your Mom, wife, or yourself! Let’s start with red, shall we?

RP Dandelion voile scarf, Seahag + Walrus necklace, Moss earrings (jewelry available in our Portland studio shop)

Plumeria Penelope, Dandelion Vessel Tote

Sailboat coin purse, Tulip Maximo wallet

Dandelion throw pillow, Velocity Just-in-Case, Poppy bike pannier

Working on a new textile print. Spring is inspiring me and I’m painting dozens and dozens of these beauties to see what shape and style I like best. It’s kind of like signing my name over and over again. I think these will look lovely on one of our lightweight scarves…

Candi Factory undies are back in the shop! The ones with the little ruffle at the legs are a new style and look extra cute and comfy with that wide elastic waist band. I can personally vouch for these undies - they are seriously comfortable AND flattering - a combo that can be hard to find. Come by the shop to check them out! We’re always getting new styles in and can order a size for you if we don’t have yours.

My husband has some streamers on one of his (many) bikes, which I’ve always admired. We are always looking for creative uses for our fabric scraps, and I thought that handlebar streamers would be a really cool way to cut up some of our remnants and fabrics that are otherwise languishing in the studio. There is something undeniably fun, flirty, and reminiscent of childhood about these. Available in 4 different color combos! Thanks to Portland Design Works for the rad handlebar grips that we are using in our streamer display!
